I am super-excited to get Project Life underway. The kids are excited to join in and, while my husband is rolling his eyes at yet-another scrapbook project for me, he is also very supportive. 🙂

As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m getting rid of most of my paper scrapbooking supplies. This year marks the 4th year that I’ve been on the Creative Team at DesignerDigitals and I know that Project Life is the only paper or hybrid project that I want to do this year. So, when it came to organizing my supplies for Project Life, I wanted to go through the rest of my paper supplies and decide what to keep. I really only kept a tiny bit – some word stickers, some punches, pens, and alphabet stickers. I still have a couple more boxes to go through but I doubt I will keep much more.

So, what I’m keeping is what you see. I wanted it out in the open so that I can see it and, therefore, use it for Project Life. It’s what’s on the top of the desk and that’s it.

All of my organizers came from Target. The big white box is a few years old and seems to be discontinued, but it’s just a thick cardboard embellishment box. I’ve seen others similar to it at Michael’s stores in the past.

Inside it are all of the Clementine supplies, plus a few letter stickers from years past and just a few supplies from an older Project 365 kit (the two upper-right bins). I organized the journaling spots by color because that’s usually how I use things. “Oh, I need something red here,” I’ll think and then reach for something red. That’s just how it works for me but something else might work for other people. The beauty of this project is that it can be anything you want it to be – even when it comes to organization.

These next clear bins are also from Target. I picked them up this week specifically for this project. It is three bins – each with three compartments – that I just placed side-by-side. (They are in the new seasonal display near the front of the store.) Inside them are my digital supplies that I printed off onto white cardstock. I’ll have more info on how I’m incorporating digital supplies from DesignerDigitals later this week.

The next bin is one large bin with three long compartments – also from the same place in Target – that holds my tools, punches, pens, some of the letter stickers, etc… The only other tool I’ll really use is my trimmer but it’s getting very, very old. I also don’t need one this big anymore so if anyone has any trimmer suggestions, I would love to hear your recommendations.

And that’s pretty much it. It’s simple and all out in the open. So far, I’ve been in there every day for a few minutes at a time, just jotting down notes or printing off my phone pics. I’ve been leaving the album open and putting a few notes and photos on the page protectors.

I already had some extra black albums here at the house that I’m in the process of moving my older layouts into. So, for the sake of my budget and my love for organization, I’m using one of those binders so it will look neat and tidy on the shelves. The one I’m using is a basic Black American Crafts 12-Inch by 12-Inch D-Ring Leather Scrapbooking Album with a cover photo.

AC albumRight now, I’m torn between a weekly theme and a monthly theme. I’m seriously leaning towards a monthly theme with an intro page (probably all digi) for each month. I’ll see what happens at the end of this week and see how I feel once we get a few more days into the year.

I’ll be back later in the week with a mini-digi tutorial. 🙂

Is there a die cut or punch available that cuts 2.9×3.9 paper?
