Quilting blindly

Let me preface this by saying that I am quilting blindly. I don't have a pattern, I don't have a clue really if I'm doing this the "right" way. I'm just doing it. LOL!

That being said, I had some graph paper lying around and I sketched out a quilt pattern for a University of Texas quilt for Tom and I'm half done with the quilt top. As I've posted before, this quilt is heavily inspired by both Elizabeth's Mod Sampler quilt and Jacquie's Orange Crush quilt. The fact that this is the same colors as Jacquie's quilt is totally a coincidence – I gasped out loud when I saw her quilt because I had already bought the fabrics you see above.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I'm liking the way the quilt is turning out, but Tom seems to like it so I'll keep going with it. And I will be working on this non-stop this weekend because next week starts the next quilt along!

For more details on the Quilt Along, click on the Quilting link on my sidebar on the right side of my blog. 🙂

Looks great so far – I love that having never formally been taught how to quilt – I feel that I am then not restrained to all its rules and essentially we can “Quilt Blindly” – I say go for it!!! You’ll probably learn lots along the way.
