Okay, so there's no journaling on this one so no real reason for me to post it, but I'm partial to it, so I'm posting it, anyway. :)
This assignment was to turn clip art into a brush. I took a heart clip art out of Microsoft Word and made it into a brush. I put it onto my photo and then on a blank white sheet. I then cut out the digital brush and used it under my title. Hybrid scrapping is so neat. You can make your own totally customized embellishments out of nearly anything. :)
This was so much fun to do - my assignment was to include text on a photo that appeared to come out of a key part of the photo. I just couldn't think of anything other than the bubble coming out of someone's mouth or sounds coming out of an instrument. Until I saw this picture. I was dieting and the kids were making s'mores and I kept staring at this plate of chocolate and it was killing me not to eat it. I took a picture of it to document the s'mores and when I looked at the picture, the white space on this picture really spoke to me. Ha! Get it? And I realized that that was the layout right there.
Journaling: Eat me. You know you want to. I taste so good. Eat me. Just one bite and I'll make all your troubles go away.
This book is why I didn't enter Hall of Fame this year.
I have 3 scrapbookers whose work I absolutely, completely admire. Ali Edwards, Cathy Zielske, and Jessica Sprague.
And being asked by Jessica to be a contributor to this book was one of the highlights of my scrapping "career." LOL! But, seriously, it rocked! I've been waiting and waiting for this book since July of last year. Some of my favorite work is in there.
I got my copy of the book today. And it was one of those really strange moments. I actually teared up. Yes, I did. And Stef will laugh at me. But, it made me realize that I had accomplished what I wanted to accomplish. I didn't need any more validation. I didn't need HOF or any other major contest win. Someone that I admired liked my work. And that was cool.
You can't read a lot of the journaling one my layouts in here so I thought I'd share some of the layouts with the journaling over the next few days if you can all bear with me.
Not sure just yet, but just in case you suddenly can't get in, email me through that little link under my picture on the left or leave me a comment here and I'll send you out the username and password.
I wish I could just post the info here, but that would defeat the purpose. :p
Lurkers are welcome to email me, too. In fact, please do. It's not you that's making me think about having to do this.
And, it's been a week since Steph tagged me and I'm just now getting to it. Sorry! (Remember my collection of friends named Steph/f? Yep, this is one of them.)
So, here are the rules:
You have to post the rules before you give your answers.
You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name).
After you are tagged, you need to update your blog with your middle name and your answers.
At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and that they need to read your blog for details.)
My middle name is Anne. So, here goes:
A: Anne of Green Gables is one one my favorite book/series and I've tried to get Emily to read them for over 2 years. She's been totally obsessed with Harry Potter, the Leminy Snicket series, and many others. But, last week, she finally sat down and read the whole Anne series and loved them. Makes me happy. :)
N: Nassau, Bahamas - hard to believe that it's only been 5 weeks since we got back. I've been cold ever since. :(
N: New book coming out - Jessica's new book is out and I'm dying to see it!!! Some of my favorite layouts ever are in there!
E: Easy recipes - still looking for these. If you have any, please take pity on my family and email them to me. :)
Okay, I have to tag people and this is always the hardest part. By the time, I get to these things, everyone else has already been tagged. So, if you're reading this and want to do it, just let me know!
