Yes, chaos is all around me. But, it's not bad. It's kinda fun. :)
We're living out of boxes still and probably will be for a little bit longer.
Our goal was to get the kitchen unpacked first and that's done. Followed by the kids' rooms and that's almost done. Emily's room is completely done - pictures on the wall and everything. (Please note that done does not equal repainted, new windows installed and all that - it simply means unpacked. The painting and redecorating will come later.) The other kids' rooms each only have 1 or 2 boxes left to unpack and then pictures to put up and they will be done.
I'm now working on the downstairs and we're making some headway. We've decided that we have no need for a formal living room - that's just not us. So, we've turned the formal living room into a library and I LOVE it. It's totally full of bookcases and it's us. :)
NOTE: I started this post a couple of days ago and am just now getting back to it. I'll be taking a break from all of this for 4-5 days and headed out of town to be with my family for awhile as we say good-bye to my lovely grandmother who passed away this week. I'll have more to write about her when I get back and have some time to compose my thoughts.
In the meantime, here are some snapshots of the chaos:
Andrew decided to try to sleep in our bathtub one night. Nearly gave us a heart attack when we went to bed and saw this.
And this is the dining room - we put our old kitchen table in the basement and are using our dining room table as our kitchen table so the dining room won't have furniture for a bit. So, it has become the perfect room to store boxes and other things in while we work on unpacking. This photo is a couple of days old. The empty boxes currently reach to the ceiling in here.
