I'm quilting and quilting as fast as I can these days. I have a Sunday deadline to get this next quilt off my dining room table. So, every spare minute that I can, I'm quilting.
This is Emily's quilt. A quilt I promised her over a year ago and that was going to match her old bedroom. Oops!
Her old bedroom had yellow walls and brown bedding with pink, green, yellow and teal accents.
Her new bedroom is black and white with hot pink accents. So, we had to rethink her quilt because I wasn't going to buy new fabric for it.
I did some computations, did some internet research on patterns and decided to simply make my own pattern for this one.
I'm using most of the fabric, just cutting out some of the teal and doubling up on some of the pink.
I've also taught myself to chain piece and that is soooooo much faster than doing each square individually. If you haven't tried it, I highly encourage it.
Making 60 squares can get very monotonous, no matter how you do it
The next step is the sashing and I'm hoping to have the quilt top pieced by Thursday afternoon.
Let's just hope that I don't walk in dog crap again anytime soon and have to take an entire day off to steam clean my carpeting. (It looks so much better after the cleaning!)
