Remember the table runner I made for my dining room a couple of weeks ago?
When I bought the fabric, I thought I was going to make the table runner quite a bit longer and reversible. I changed my mind and used a cotton/linen fabric for the backing and so I ended up with a lot of extra Moda fabric.
Now I have a throw-sized quilt that is perfect for the family room. It's the easiest quilt I've ever made. The front of the quilt is just the extra Moda fabric pieced together. And the binding is made of the scraps of the same fabric.
The back of the quilt is more of the natural linen. I quilted it very simply with straight-line quilting spaced 6 inches apart.
And it's making my family room look even more like the holidays. :)
I'm so glad to be back sewing. It's truly keeping me sane these days. We're all still dealing with some difficulty transitioning to new schools and some difficult neighbors so I'm worrying constantly and sewing totally takes my mind off of all of it. And the kids are loving the quilts so it's all good. :)
