About a week ago, I started thinking ahead to Halloween and the holiday season and realized that a whole new set of "newness" was upon me. It's a new house, a new neighborhood and some of our old traditions are going to need to be re-worked. "My Thanksgiving tabletop accessories won't fit on the new table." "Where do we put the Christmas tree in the new house?" "We have a fireplace so we can actually hang our stockings on the mantle!" Just stuff like that.
I know it's going to be fun to have new traditions but I can't pretend that there won't be a bit of sadness mixed in, too. I'll just have to fix that with some retail therapy. :)
Some new fall decorating that was super-quick and easy was a great place to start.
In the foyer, I simply switched out the yellow bowl on the bookcase with some mini-pumpkins. And I love it.
And, on the mantle, I switched out the green and white floral arrangement for a much warmer one and I added in some gold candles.
