Six years ago today, this little bundle of fur was born. He was officially known as "puppy number 5" or "Jesse." Seven weeks later, he came home to us and became known as "the crazy puppy."
He was so crazy and got into so much trouble that I started blogging about him and all of his adventures - there's still a few good stories left here - Crazy Puppy Stories.
We adore him and are so grateful that he's still with us. We've almost lost him more than a few times and his short little life has been full of traumatic events. So many that it boggles my mind - from breaking his hip at only eight months old and having to be on total crate rest for four months to almost dying from an eye infection to getting MRSA and being told we might have to put him down twice - he has proved his tenacity and desire to be here with us.
Here's his three favorite spots that I captured last week during A Week in the Life.
In the entryway so he can watch everybody coming and going.
On the deck looking down into the backyard. Checking to see if the neighbor's dog is out for him to play with or maybe the squirrels will provide something to bark at today.
And at my feet in the kitchen waiting for me to roll his allergy meds into cheese.
Happy Birthday, Sawyer! We love you!
